The actress would have celebrated her 74th birthday next week, to be exact on the 27th of October. She was born in 1944 in Ljubljana. She graduated at the Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in 1975 and joined Ljubljana’s SNG Drama ensemble two years later. She remained at the SNG Drama theatre house until her retirement. "With her singing and acting talent she created many magical moments on stage," wrote Ljubljana’s SNG Drama, bidding its last farewell to the retired member of its ensemble.

Worth mentioning among her most recognizable roles are Phedre from Jean Racine’s play with the same name, Špela from Milan Jesih’s drama Triko, the singing teacher in William Shakespeare’s King Lear, as well as Matilda from Gregor Strniša’s play Ljudožerci (Cannibals). Levstik also received the Golden Lion award at the 4th International Festival of Chamber Theatre in Umag in 2003, for her female role in Thomas Bernhard’s play The World-Fixer.

In the last couple of years Levstik played in Barčica za punčke, written by Milena Marković and directed by Aleksandar Popovski, Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz’s Ponorela lokomotiva (The Crazy Locomotive) directed by Jernej Lorenci, and Prijatelji (Friends) by Kobe Abe and directed by Mateja Koležnik.
On the film screen
In film art in recent years Lesvtik appeared in films such as Pod gladino (Buoyancy), directed by Klemen Dvornik in 2016, and we can also hear her voice in Špela Čadež’s 2013 short animated film Boles.
