Great damage caused by sleet
In February last year heavy sleet caused extensive damage to the Primorsko railway. Between Borovnica and Pivka the contact lines for supply to electric trains were almost completely ruined. As reported by Elen Batista Štader for TV Dnevnik, 70% of the contact lines of that section (poles, conductors and some stations) had to be rebuilt.
The total cost of rehabilitation was 40 billion euros.
