The Health Minister Milojka Kolar Celarc and the Fides president Konrad Kuštrin have initiated the agreement on suspension of the doctors' strike. Kolar Celarc said that she had explained the contents of the agreement to the government, to avoid misinformation.
She emphasized that the entire governmental negotiating team adhered to the negotiating positions set by the government. They have been authorised several times for leading the negotiations, the last time it happened last Thursday. After today's visit at the government where she explained the contents of the agreement the Minister believes that the government is supporting her, and is placated by her explanations.
"I never overstepped the decisions made by the government. Should it turn out I did, I will resign," she said.
Kuštrin expects that today the government will confirm the initiated agreement. "I have already initiated a number of agreements within these rooms, and the government has always confirmed them. In the opposite case, the government would call into question its credibility," he said. The agreement initiated today will suspend the strike activities until January 23.
