In the 90s of the previous century quite different plans were made for the space which afterwards won the cult status. A place for entertainment had been envisioned, a stage for cabaret artists, jugglers, opera singers, dancers… But the original idea almost resulted in a bankruptcy, and the initiators found the solution far from the "elite entertainment" and within the subculture which has since then penetrated practically all the pores of popular culture.
Ravers started gathering in the "shelter" near the sea, where residents Valentino Kanzyjani and Umek grew and developed. Clubs emerged and failed, but Ambasada kept standing - in spite of changes in management - five management boards in 20 years, and the uncertainty of the present one. The real estate is owned by the company Mercator, and the building is offered for sale. Therefore it can be hired only for a half-year period, which makes the business activity and operation of the club difficult. But the 20th anniversary is the sign that Ambasada won't close its door so easily.
