Experienced tourism workers near the Slovenian-Italian border have found a new opportunity for themselves. Among the 71 thousand guests at the prestigious Savoia Excelsior Palace hotel along Trieste’s coast, 18 thousand of them are U.S nationals.
Apart from Portorož, Piran and the Postojna Cave, the hotel guests will now also be offered to see the hometown of Mrs. Trump. "We decided to do it after receiving some requests from U.S tourist agencies, which have already started advertising such excursions for next year," said Riccardo Zanelotti, the director of the Savoia Excelsior Palace hotel, for TV Slovenia’s Dnevnik central news show.
The service for the hotel in Trieste, and also another hotel in Venice, will be carried out by an agency with much experience in preparing offers for foreign visitors coming to Slovenia. "We will see Sevnica –the birthplace. We will show a bit of the surroundings and also offer some wine tasting and desserts - both known and unknown," said Robert Čebokelj from the Slovenia4Seasons tourist agency.
Slovenia’s economy and Sevnica have high expectations as the country becomes more recognizable: "We also have a few other attractive things in mind, which will include all the things Melania saw as a child," explained Mojca Pernovšek from the Sevnica Institute for Culture, Sport and Tourism. The trip to Sevnica would cost around 160 euros. Organizers have no doubt that the offer will be a success.
