Touring Slovenia
Ana Desetnica is touring Slovenia with stops in 13 towns and cities. The festival kicked off in Maribor on June 24 and has spread to locales including Kranj, Ilirska Bistrica, Novo mesto, Kočevje, and Šmartno. Between Wednesday and Sunday, the festival will make stops in Ljubljana, Šoštanj, Nova Gorica, Radovljica, Sežana, Krško, and Škofja Loka.
Two sides to a street: a public venue and a theatre
This year’s edition of Ana Desetnica will host 38 street performers and performing groups from 15 countries. 41 different performances are planned. This year, there will be additional events in Ljubljana. Festival founder Goro Osojnik said that this year’s edition of the festival focusses on streets and their double role as a public venue and a theatre. "Our goal is to show that a street, which is a public space, can be transformed into a theatre," said Osojnik.
