She declined to go into details on whether the party's executive committee had suggested that she resign. "We talked about a lot of things. They did not suggest anything to that effect. People have different opinions about different things. It is for me to decide whether to resign or not; no one else can make that decision for me," Bratušek explained.
She added that they had an honest conversation and that talks about the future of the party would continue. She announced that the party would hold a congress at the beginning of next year, pending agreement by the members of the party council. The council will hold a session in a month.
Bratušek and Vilfan jointly address the Fourth Estate
The party's vice-president Peter Vilfan also addressed the journalists. He is the only one who has criticized Bratušek in public. He pointed out after the meeting of the executive committee that this was the first debate in a while in which the party and the members could talk about all the issues they were concerned about.
"We heard lots of differing opinions, and we decided that we would continue the debate. The party's executive committee will meet soon, and the party will hold a congress shortly thereafter. We will certainly come to a conclusion, but I can't predict what it will be," Vilfan said. He agreed with Bratušek that ZaAB had a future on the Slovenian political scene.
