Besides the Prostor in pol 2015 (a Space and a Half) award by readers' choice, this year a special editorial award was given to the Fabrika bar from Nova Gorica. The modern design is the result of combination of recycled materials, mainly concrete and wood, bringing in mind the fate of the failed companies from Nova Gorica, like MIP and Meblo.
The chosen interior won a very special award designed by the design studio Desnahemisfera – a small version of the Goat Mug, a cup in the shape of a goat horn. Every year another designer studio will design the award; in 2014 the Prostor in pol award was designed by the Studio Drevo architecture studio.
The motto of the column Prostor in pol (Lepota bivanja - Beauty of Residence), where MMC has been presenting interesting interiors for the second year in a row, is the awareness that spaces we live in have a well-thought-out contents, arising from either innovative ideas, passion for design and architecture, or respect of cultural heritage. The purpose of the space is less important than its story, enveloped in passion, innovativeness, or respect of cultural heritage.
