So far it all points in the direction that the bank bailout was carried out according to the rules. The ministerial team is to continue debating the issue with Governor Jazbec. Therefore, a decision on the launching of a forensic investigation into the banks is not yet expected from the government. It is however already known that the political debate surrounding the bank bailout will continue at an emergency session of parliament, which will be called soon.
A parliamentary inquiry commission will most likely also look into the alleged irregularities in the banks' capital increase. Finance Minister Dušan Mramor has been fully backing the Central Bank Governor from the very beginning of the affair. During his last visit to Brussels, minister Mramor was assured that there was no other way in rescuing the banks.
