As reported by Radio Slovenija, at the yesterday's ceremony proclaiming the businessman of Primorska Cerar also said that the Port of Koper would not be sold, and assured if the stability of both government and coalition.
The Port of Koper and its ownership have been the topic of discussions for several years now. During Borut Pahor government the idea emerged to connect the Port of Koper, the Slovenian railways (SŽ) and the logistic company Intereuropa into a joint holding, but later this idea was dismissed. Recently an initiative emerged suggesting that the financing of the second track could be assured by selling the Port of Koper, which met with strong disapproval by the port employees. Therefore Cerar for now left all the options still open.
