According to the Prime Minister, the motion is mostly a reflection of the opposition's belief that "the elections will be held soon" "Apparently, it's in someone's interest to create an impression of a crisis, and we can't back down because of that. We must continue our work." Cerar emphasized that all indicators in Slovenia are positive, "but we do have many challenges ahead of us, including health care reform."
He also called on ministers to continue their consistent attendance of European Council meetings, "because I can assure you that based in what I've heard from Brussels, our presence at the EU institutions, primarily the Council, has been noticed and has brought us increased respectability." Cerar added that Slovenian ministers take part in talks with their foreign counterparts on the same level, which helps Slovenia to be successful with its initiatives and proposals.
