After a coalition summit the PM announced that he would officially put forward Mr. Počivalšek as a minister candidate today, or by tomorrow the latest.
Počivalšek was named Manager of the Year in 2010. In 2005 he received an award from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce for exceptional economic and business achievements. In the course of his career Mr. Počivalšek took part in the setting up of the Agricultural cooperative in Šmarje pri Jelšah. He was also the head of the Mlekarna Celeia dairy company between 1993 and 1999. He then took charge of the Zdravilišče Atomske toplice health spa and created a new brand called Terme Olimia. Today the Terme Olimia spa center includes Terme Olimia, Terme Tuhelj and the Terme Olimia swimming pools.
The PM's cabinet hails Počivalšek as a capable candidate
The PM's cabinet hails Počivalšek as a person who "successfully displays his leadership and organizational qualities". The cabinet also points out that Mr. Počivalšek gained his first experience in leading a team as a member of a working group which successfully salvaged the business of the Agricultural cooperative in Šmarje pri Jelšah.
PM Cerar's cabinet also points out that Zdravko Počivalšek, who is otherwise an agronomy engineer, is also the president of Slovenia's Tourism and Hospitality Chamber, is a board member of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the Manager association, and a council member of SPIRIT Slovenia.
The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce is satisfied with the proposal
The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce welcomed PM Cerar's proposal for new economy minister. The Chamber of Commerce informs that as an economist, Počivalšek "has long years of experience in management positions".
Mr. Počivalšek is also active in several other bodies within the chamber. The Chamber of Commerce therefore adds that "he is well aware of all the burning issues our economy faces«.
