Among other things, they expressed a desire for the Christmas message to be an encouragement especially for the sick, the poor, the suffering and for those who live in fear of tomorrow.
The Protestant Bishop Filo opened his speech by saying that “The Word became Man and dwelt among us”.
He continued by saying that this biblical sentence best expressed the mystery of Incarnation. According to Bishop Filo, Christmas time is when everyone can feel and perhaps even realize that a just society with a brighter future was possible.
