The strike and negotiations at the Velenje coal mine are continuing today. The Director general of the energy group HSE, the owner of the mine, finally came to the negotiating table this morning.
Some 1400 workers of the mine demand the payment of overdue wages, holiday allowances, the scrapping of a proposed 10% pay cut and a higher price of coal that would cover operating costs. However all the demands are unlikely to be met, as the coal mine and the main buyer of the coal are both in a dire financial situation.
