The Commission began investigating the matter in 2012, on suspicion of the state aid being in violation of European regulations. The Slovenian government provided aid to the airline in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Altogether, the airline received 13 million euros between 2007 and 2009. It received another 2.5 million in 2010.
