Today was the first working day after the introduction of mandatory certified cash registers. The number of users of certified cash registers is growing by the hour. At the moment there are around 23.000 users, which is still only a third of the expected figure. Those already using the system say they have no problems. Those still without cash registers give different answers; some experience system shutdowns although they have been signed in since the end of December, while others still wait for Internet connections.
110 supervisors from the Financial Administration are out on the field overlooking the setting up of certified cash registers. The situation is expected to be normalized in 14 days. Peter Jenko from the Financial Administration adds that in this period tax inspectors will only issue warnings.
