At the mentioned web platform the first, i.e. the highest level of alert is given to the worst and most damaging attacks on freedom of media. Janša's tweet has been reported to the Council of Europe Platform, and marked with the Alert level 1 by the European Journalists Association, one of the six partners of the Platform, Matjaž Gruden, Director of the Directorate of Policy Planning of the Council of Europe explained.

The note was tweeted following the TV Slovenija journalist Eugenija Carl's report on Monday about some notable members of the SDS Party whose names had ended up among the Facebook group called Legion of Death, all of them having denied joining the group.

Many condemnation of the tweet
The journalist Carl and the editor of the TV news programme Mojca Šetinc Pašek intend to file a civil suit against the president of the SDS Party for his tweet, and individual defamation suits for abuse and injury of reputation and good name.
Both associations of journalists have condemned the note, and it was also condemned by Radiotelevizija Slovenija and some political parties.
