TV correspondent Erika Pečnik Ladika said the search operation began at 7 a.m. and involved 55 locals from Trebelno na Dolenjskem and members of the Logatec Speleological Society. The body was found around 1 p.m. in the woods between Logatec and Laze. The police has confirmed the finding and ruled out any foul play.

The spokesperson of the Ljubljana Police Administration, Maja Ciperle Adlešič, explained that the DNA test results would show if the body belongs to the missing truck driver, Stanko Brajer. On the 13th of July Brajer caused a traffic accident on the A1 coastal highway, in which four Romanians lost their lives. After the accident he fled the scene and two days later the police officially pronounced him missing and started a search operation.

The police spokesperson also warned that we can only presume that the found body was that of Mr. Brajer. Due to the hot weather conditions the body is reportedly in very bad shape. However, Pečnik Ladika reports that Brajer’s relatives, and the locals who found the body, are convinced that it belongs to the 50-year-old Brajer from Trebelno.
