The band’s latest album “Spirit” will hit the shelves at the beginning of next year. To the great pleasure of many of their fans the band will also play the album live in Slovenia – the British band is scheduled to perform at the Stožice arena in Ljubljana on the 14th of May.
Depeche Mode already performed in Ljubljana ten years ago. It held a concert at the Bežigrad Stadium in 2006 as part of their Touring The Angel music tour.
First in Europe, then overseas
In the first part of the Global Spirit Tour, Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher will visit 32 cities across Europe. In a total of 21 countries the band will perform in front of more than 1,5 million fans. The tour will kick off in Stockholm on the 5th of May. On the 14th of May the band will visit Slovenia. The band will end the European part of their tour with a concert in Romania on the 23rd of July.
The tour will then continue across the ocean in North and South America. The band’s last tour – The Delta Machine – was one of the biggest and most successful music tours of 2013. It featured sold-out arenas across Europe and North America and a head-spinning total number of visitors – their tour was watched by a total of 2,5 million fans.
Sold more than 100 million records
Depeche Mode, known by hits like People Are People, Just Can't Get Enough and Personal Jesus, have been a part of the music scene since the 1980s. The British trio, made up of Martin Gore, Dave Gahan and Andy Fletcher, has already sold more than 100 million of its records. Their albums and songs have topped music charts across the world.
The upcoming “Spirit” will be the 14th studio album of the music pioneers. Its predecessor, the critically acclaimed album “Delta Machine” from 2013, was in the top 5 in 26 countries, and climbed to number one in 12 countries.
Behind the “Spirit” album is producer James Ford, the founding member of the Simian Mobile Disco band. He has also produced albums for bands like Florence and the Machine as well as Arctic Monkeys. Depeche Mode’s latest album will come out in the beginning of 2017, under the label of Columbia Records.
