The Austrian has managed to break the winning streak of Slovenians at eight consecutive ski-flying competitions. His 227.5-metre-long flight brought him to the lead in the first series, while 218 metres in the 2nd run sufficed to fight off the attack of the recently extremely well-performing German Andreas Wellinger.
German's ace set a new record of the hill named after Heini Klopfer by landing at the 234,5-metre mark. However, his starting inrun position was four steps higher than Kraft's, who has won in ski-flying for the first time in his career. Wellinger's second flight was also excellent, earning him 2nd place with 222.5 m.
The overall leader in the World Cup, Kamil Stoch, took bronze after having opened the competition with the longest flight in the trial run. Just missing the podium was Daniel Andre Tande, whose 229 metres in the final series put him one place higher in the final series.
