Their first opponent is Besiktas, and the Dragons will face them for the first time in the European competitions. The Besiktas team placed fifth in the regular part of the Turkish championship, and in the playoffs they lost in the quarterfinals.
Two years ago they won the state championship for the second time; it was the most successful season in the club history, as the black-whites from Istanbul became the cup champions as well, plus they won the Eurochallenge. This will be their eighth appearance in the European cup.
