Upon receiving results of the stress test, the EU approved state aid for Slovenia’s two largest banks, Nova Ljubljanska Banka and the Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor. By doing so, the European Commission hopes to strengthen confidence and trust in Slovenian banks. Approval was given late to Probanka and Factor Banka and temporary approval has been given to Abanka. Further restructuring plans are being developed in Brussels.
