Twenty-four teams will compete in the EuroBasket tournament, which will take place between August 31 and September 17, 2017. Poland will be Slovenia’s first opponent, in a game scheduled for August 31.

As was the case in 2015, the group stage will take place in four countries. From the knockout stage onwards, the games will be played in Istanbul. Four groups from each stage will advance into the final 16.

The draw was partially seeded: Each host country could choose an opposing team. The Romanians, who will compete in Cluj, chose Hungary, while the Israelis opted for Lithuania. Tukey chose Russia, and Finland opted for Iceland.

This will be the last EuroBasket before an important change. In the future, the European championships will take place every four years and no longer every two years.

Group A (Helsinki): Poland, Greece, France, Finland, Iceland, Slovenia

Group B (Tel Aviv): Ukraine, Israel, Lithuania, Georgia, Italy, Germany

Group C (Cluj): Croatia, Czech Republic, Spain, Montenegro, Romania, Hungary

Group D (Istanbul): Great Britain, Russia, Serbia, Latvia, Turkey
