The European Commission found irregulairities in the procedure determining the effects the center will have on the environment. The Commission says the municipality of Bohinj failed to secure a report from the Environment Ministry on the construction.

Slovenia's Ski Association was the main investor in the project, and is also found guilty of violating the European Habitats Directive on the conservation of natural habitats. The Ski Association rejects the accusations and says the construction was carried out in accordance to Slovenian legislation.
