On Friday morning at 9 a.m., cars entering and exiting Slovenia at Obrežje-Bregana had to wait around 5 hours. 10km tailbacks were reported. Robert Perc of the Novo mesto Police Administration said that travellers should plan their route carefully and avoid large border crossings.
Additional police officers have been deployed to the Obrežje-Bregana border crossing. Moreover, some locals have already been complaining about the increased traffic. Traditionally, Good Friday has been the busiest day for people travelling from Slovenia to Croatia for Easter. However, police have said that travellers may experience some additional delays over the entire Easter weekend. Police have also asked drivers not to drive on the hard shoulder of a motorway and to always clear the way for rescue workers and ambulances.
