The shop, located in the basement of the City Shopping Centre, will offer about 60 different products and items of produce, all of which are marked with the Certified Quality Certificate, and some are also from controlled organic production. "Since 2014, we have been extending our cooperation in a project on healthy nutrition, organised under the patronage of the mayor of the City of Maribor, the objective of which is to actively raise people’ awareness in the sense of ‘buy healthy’. With the new shop, which will be open all year, we continue to expand this practice,” emphasized the dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Branko Kramberger.
The Meranovo shop is open from Monday to Saturday. Its offer, among other things, includes pumpkin oil, apple cider vinegar, apple juice, apple slices, buckwheat flour and buckwheat porridge, roasted and chocolate-coated pumpkin seeds. There is also a large selection of wines from the Meranovo wine cellar as well as spirits and liqueurs.
The Pohorski dvor estate, which is managed by the above-mentioned faculty, covers more than 400 hectares of land: forest, meadows and fields, covered areas for growing vegetable seedlings and ornamental flowers, a pig-breeding centre, orchards, a botanical garden and vineyards on the famous Meranovo location.
