The organizer Narodni dom Maribor was relieved, but only for a short time. Now there will be a lot of work concluding contracts with performers, as the 16-day festival on the banks of the river Drava begins in just 3 weeks.
Narodni dom Maribor director Vladimir Rukavina is very pleased because thanks to the extra funding Festival Lent will not be left without its trademark - a floating stage on the river Drava. Nevertheless, the financial structure of the festival, which is estimated at 1.2 million euros, has not been completed yet. They still need some more money but plan to look for additional sponsors and donors, as well as collect money from ticket sales.
The festival program remains about the same as in previous years - both in terms of quantity and quality, according to Rukavina. He also said that within the 16-day festival every visitor can find something to enjoy. This year's 22nd Festival Lent will come to life at different venues on 20th June.
