Police from the Šentjur Police Department have determined that the fire broke out in the living room of the building’s attic, near a decorative bioethanol fireplace, says the Celje Police Department.

The blaze probably started when the fireplace’s tin containers were being filled. Fire broke out uncontrollably and then enveloped the 33-year-old woman, who was in the room. There were two children in the room with her. One of them was singed in the fire. Eventually, the male owner of the house put out the fire with an extinguisher.

The injured 33-year-old woman and the child were taken by ambulance to the Maribor Medical Center, where the 33-year-old is now struggling for her life.
