The PM stressed that the government's decision to intensify its measures along the border will not represent a closure of the border, but a way to better control the flow of refugees. Speaking at the sidelines of the parliamentary session on Thursday, he still refused to clarify the issue surrounding the fence or wire: whether Slovenia already has it or not. PM Cerar only assured that the government was active and that the issue was considered confidential.
PM Cerar also reminded of the commitments from the Brussels mini-summit. According to Cerar it was essential that Slovenia still waits to see if the commitments made by other counties were being fulfilled in practice. Slovenia would like to see if the flow of refugees is contained at the Greece-Turkey border, and whether countries from Greece to Slovenia will start slowing down the flow of refugees in an efficient manner, explained Cerar.
The PM also assured that some of the commitments have already been fulfilled, while other not. "The commitments are partially being fulfilled, but mostly at an insufficient level," ascertained the PM.
