Temperatures around the freezing point were recorded in the Coastal region, but it did feel colder because of the strong coastal wind. The south-east of the country experienced the coldest night. Črnomelj and Cerklje ob Krki recorded -16 degrees Celsius. So did Babno Polje. In Novo Mesto it was -13,5 degrees, while in Celje and Ptuj it was -12.
Maribor and Murska Sobota recorded temperatures of around -9 degrees, while visitors in the capital Ljubljana spent New Year's Eve with temperatures around -7 degrees.
In the coming days the weather forecast says it will be a bit warmer and sunnier, with temperatures above 0 degrees.
