Healthcare reforms not yet coordinated within the coalition; the minister still waiting for official cost estimates

Various measures for a more efficient healthcare system that were demanded by the coalition no later than Monday in return for their support of Health Minister Milojka Kolar Celarc still have not been backed up with specific numbers, say DeSUS and SD.

Before Monday's session of the National Assembly. Health Minister Milojka Kolar Celarc stated that the healthcare and health insurance bill, which contains some cost estimates, has already been written. The team plans to come up with additional estimates; when they are coordinated with the Ministry of Finance, they will be presented to the coalition. Kolar Celarc also wants the coalition to come together regarding cost estimates in the bill before the bill is submitted for public debate. The proposed legislation would, among other things, abolish supplementary health insurance

Several possible solutions
Several solutions have been proposed for the replacement of supplementary insurance. One would transform supplementary insurance into a contribution that would be based on an individual's income. Another proposal would set the contribution based on several income categories.

One possibility that would help ensure the financial stability of healthcare funds is a fund that would be financed from taxes and could be used in case of high unemployment.
