Heavy traffic jams in Ljubljana due to roadworks

Drivers are advised to set off early

Due to ongoing roadworks on Dunajska Street, heavy traffic and delays have been reported in Ljubljana on Monday, especially during the afternoon rush hour. The street is expected to be reopened before Tuesday morning. Roadworks on the Ljubljana Ring are due to be completed in September.

The Ljubljana Police Administration said that additional police officers had been deployed to direct traffic during rush hours.

Bus service affected
Several bus routes had to be diverted due to the roadworks on Dunajska Street. According to city bus operator LPP, passengers are advised to look up the temporary bus timetable on LPP’s website. The company also said that passengers should expect delays.

Busses going to Ljubljana have also been affected. Delays of up to 30 minutes have been reported. Commuters should expect delays of up to 40 minutes during the morning rush hour.

Several roadworks in place
Dunajska Street will be completely closed between Tivolska Street and Linhartova Street until Wednesday. The Municipality of Ljubljana said that they wanted to finish the roadworks before pupils return to school on 1 September. There are two roadworks sites in the immediate vicinity: at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, and between the intersection of Tolstojeva/Baragova Streets and Posavskega/Dimičeva Streets.
