The art exhibit will be organized by the International Centre of Graphic Arts. The event will showcase a selection of 22 posters from the biennial’s 60-year history. Most of the posters date back to the period before 2001.
The first instalment of the Biennial featured
The Dance of Kurents The organizing committee of first instalment of this international art exhibit decided that the exhibition should be accompanied by a catalogue and a poster. The poster was designed by Riko Debenjak. France Mihelič's Ples Kurentov (The Dance of Kurents), a wood engraving, was chosen to be the event’s official artwork. It was printed in 500 copies. The first eight instalments of the international art exhibit saw artists reproduce an existing artwork for a poster (with added typography). Ivan Picelj’s poster for the fifth instalment of the biennial signalled a break with this tradition, as his poster was a piece of modern visual communication.
2015 is also the year of the Biennial
