Hoče - Slivnica: budget amendment due to first purchases of land

Less than two weeks ago the government adopted the decision to allocate € 10 million to Hoče - Slivnica municipality until the year 2018. The money is intended for arrangement of the Hoče industrial business zone, where also the Magna company would have its business premises.

Yesterday at the extraordinary session the municipal councillors with 18 votes in favour, and one abstained, supported the budget amendment. Thus, the first part of the funds in the amount of € 1,390,000 will be included into the budget, and they plan to purchase the first 12 hectares of the land.

The industrial business zone in the Hoče - Slivnica municipality, of approximately 100 hectares, is a part of the national programme for boosting competitivity of Maribor and its surroundings. The final step towards the initiation of the project was the yesterday's confirmation of the municipality budget amendment. The land will be purchased in three stages.

The endeavour of the government and the municipality for establishing an industrial zone is supported by almost all the municipal councillors. A large investor – Magna Stayer is being mentioned, since several weeks ago the company had registered a company in Slovenia – could help open new jobs in the Podravje region, lure other investors, and encourage the existing ones towards development.
