"I’m looking forward to the concert, as it will create a new sound. This will not be my first time performing with the orchestra. Years ago we performed together at twelve sold-out venues, but the media overlooked it then. But that’s alright. They’re not people (laughter). My main task will be to put together a good concert setlist. And that’s not a peripheral thing," said Plestenjak.
Ahead of the Križanke concert Plestanjak also released a new video for his song “Kolk nam je luštn” created together with guitarist Zdenko Cotič - Coto. Coto composed the music and Plestenjak put together the lyrics. At the shooting of the video they were also joined by members of the Modrijani in Poskočni Muzikantje bands.
"Together with Coto we’ve recently been attracted to a form and content which is in complete contrast to what I hear among other Slovenian musicians and producers: 'Hey man, it might sound too Slovene.' But then we said we would work on folk music, music which sounds Slovene and nothing else. And that’s a real challenge for me. To create lyrics which have to be simple but not casual everyday talk. The folk format is a real challenge," said Plestenjak.
The musician is also highly critical of exposing oneself on social media. He is convinced that the only important thing there is being liked: "Sadly, I’ve come to realize many times that salon intellectuals have the same problem as Kim Kardashian. She has to decide which handbag and which shoes she’s going to wear, while they have to decide which comment is most photogenic and seriously consider what to wear so that they don’t end up looking too posh. And so where’s the difference?"
