Gustinčič was best known by his knowledge of foreign politics, analytical columns and reports for Television Slovenia. He was also an insightful writter and published articles in numerous newspapers like the Belgrade “Politika”, “Borba”, “Vreme”, “Slobodna Dalmacija”, “Naši razgledi” and “Mladina”. Gustinčič had been a journalist since the 1950-ies and spent most of his time abroad and worked in all parts of the world.

In 2012 he was awarded the order of merit by former president Türk for his journalistic contribution to an open, tolerant and cultural public dialogue.
