According to the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS), the developer of the smartwatch, IN LIFE is packed with features that allow the elderly to remain independent for as long as possible.

The smartwatch initiates an automatic call in case of a fall, it has an emergency call button and a built-in tracking device, and it can give the user reminders.

According to IJS, the smartwatch was developed as a response to the growing number of elderly people living alone. The IN LIFE smartwatch was developed as part of an international project also called IN LIFE. The latter is a Horizon 2020 European Project aimed at prolonging the independent living of the elderly.

IJS’s Intelligent System Department also received the highest award at the EvAAL Activity Recognition Competition.
