Karmina Šilec has been nominated for the Europe Prize: New Theatrical Realities

The award will be handed out in Rome this December

Karmina Šilec, the artistic director of the internationally accomplished Carmina Slovenica choir, has been nominated for the prestigious Europe Prize: New Theatrical Realities. The award is given out to encourage new trends in European theater in all its forms.

The award will be handed out at an extravagant ceremony that will take place between December 13 and 17 in Rome, where the winner of the 16th Europe Theater Prize will also be announced.

The Europe Prize: New Theatrical Realities (WPTR) was created in 1990. Past winners include Anatoly Vasiliev, Christoph Marthaler, Romeo Castellucci, Thomas Ostermeier, Katie Mitchell, Heiner Goebbels, Rimini Protokoll, Pippo Delbono, Guy Cassiers, and Krzysztof Warlikowski.
Jury members select the nominees together with associate members of the awards organization: The Union of European Theaters, the International Association of Theater Critics, the International Theater Institute, UNESCO, the European Festivals Association, as well as past winners, representatives of European theater festivals, theater companies, various institutions, and critics from leading European newspapers.
