The resignation of Klobas will certainly pour more oil to the already flared up polemic following the nomination of Gašpar Gašpar Mišič as CEO of Luka Koper, starting today. Klobas has already informed the remaining members of the supervisory board of his decision.

In his resignation he wrote that he was subjected, in spite of complete transparency of the procedure, to an avalanche of unjustified criticism, insinuations, and speculations on political and opportunistic staffing, coming from all sides. He said his decision was made independently, and without any political or detrimental motives.
He pointed out that the standing orders regulating the work of the supervisory board of Luka Koper among other things define the supervisory board's decisions as secret, and the manner of voting by separate members of the supervisory board is considered secret as well. He emphasized: "My professionalism and my commitment to rules prevented me from disclosing the details of the meetings of the supervisory board."

Under pressure, he decided to resign from the supervisory board of Luka Koper. "By this act I also want to draw attention to the independent nature of the supervisory function, and to the fact that as the president of the supervisory board I acted exclusively for the benefit of the company."

Klobas’ vote decisive?
Gašpar Mišič, until recently a state secretary at the office of the Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek, became the chairman of the board of one of the most important state-owned companies. His future at the head of Luka Koper however remains uncertain considering the planned replacement of the company supervisors, wrote Slovenian Press Agency STA.

Marko Rems, member of the supervisory board, resigned as well.
