Third time's the charm for Anže Kopitar who has now officially become the best forward with defensive plays in the NHL for the 2015/16 season. He was one of the three finalists for the award in the previous two years, but this year the Frank J. Selke trophy went to Kopitar. The trophy is considered one of the most prestigious individual awards in the NHL North American Hockey League.

Kopitar also captured the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, which has been given out every year since 1925 to "the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability."
