Among the other problems employers are already facing cadre deficiency. There are still vulnerable groups at the labour market which are not likely to find employment. For the next two years the state will allocate € 200 million for the active employment policy.
Some of the most sought after occupations are international truck drivers, construction and engineering workers, health workers, security guards, and butcher-salesmen; these workers are hard to find.
The Employment Service is therefore educating such cadres. Jurij Snoj, the director of the Ljubljana regional service, explained: "A representative of an employer pays us a visit and presents the work conditions; those who are interested in the job start with interviews, and we provide education only to those approved by the employer."
Yet employers are in the position to do the most. The general director of the Employment Service Mavricija Batič believes "employers will have to offer better work conditions, and better salaries."
The older however still remain without jobs, as well as the long-term unemployed, the handicapped and the young. 200 million euros will be spent for improving the situation of these groups. In the end of August almost 12,600 unemployed persons from these categories were included in different programmes of this policy, among them almost 62% of the long-term unemployed.
