the LaškoBrewery (Pivovarna Laško) struggled to maximize the profit from the sale of Slovenia's largest grocer Mercator, the "Mercator price as it is," says the first man company Dušan Zorko. He nevertheless noted, that the pivovarna Laško group has, by selling a 23,3% share of Mercator, lowered its debt by €75,5 million.
Pivovarna Laško president Dušan Zorko notified shareholders of the developments concerning Mercator and plans about the capital increase at a general meeting. Pivovarna Laško, Pivovarna Union and Radenska received more than €75 million for a 23,3% share of Mercator. Zorko said that this is less than they expected, but that Mercator’s price is as it is. The brewery will therefore have to sell the remaining assets. Shareholders have been informed about the agreement on restructuring and standstill that the Laško group signed at the end of April this year with all creditor banks.
