The luxury holiday camp in the heartland of Bela krajina (near the town of Metlika) allows visitors to rent a riverfront mobile home from May through September. The seven mobile homes have an average footprint of 34 square metres, and can accommodate a total of 40 visitors.

Each mobile home has a huge terrace and 100 metres of waterfront, and features a kitchen, bathroom, satellite TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi access. “The main advantage of our holiday camp is the low density of homes per square metre. We have seven luxury mobile homes in an area of 2.5 hectares (more than 6 acres), which gives our guests a great deal of freedom.”

Five of the seven luxury mobile homes are three-bedroom homes designed for families. There is another two-bedroom mobile home at the campsite, as well as a mobile home with a large living room designed for couples. We offer overnight stays, breakfasts – our guests get a basket with local foods, they can use our canoes and bicycles, play beach volleyball, work out at our gym, grill food, and there’s a playground for kids. We organize guided tours around Slovenia and the region of White Carniola (Bela krajina). Every mobile home has a Jacuzzi and direct access to a swimming place. Our number one priority is to offer high-quality services, and we strive to cater for the individual needs of our guests,” the owners of Big Berry told MMC. Overnight stays start at €200.

All tourists are welcome
Their target groups are domestic as well as foreign tourists who “want to enjoy the unspoilt landscape without missing out on the luxuries of the modern world, and people who want toenjoy locally sourced food.”

The new holiday camp is located right next to a popular beach, and the local community was worried that the swimming area would be reserved for guests only. However, the owners of the camp assured them that they can still access it. Still, there is one change: there is no longer a pub there. “The river can still be accessed by everyone, but parking options inside the camp are more limited,” the owners said.

Cooperating with the local community
The owners of the holiday camp said they are committed to cooperating with the local community. They also want to increase cooperation with local food growers, inns, restaurants, and holiday farmhouses.

The owners of the holiday camp bought the campsite a few years ago. They originally planned to build a showroom, but ultimately decided to open a luxury holiday camp. They invited more than 200 local and foreign journalists and bloggers to stay at their holiday camp, and now they are fully booked for this season.

The holiday camp offers ample opportunity to explore everything the region has to offer: local wineries, breweries, oil mills etc. You can also visit the source of the Krupa River or climb the nearby peak (Krašnji vrh) from where you can see the whole of the region.
