Savings bank Delavska hranilnica, the current owner of the airport, recently signed a sales contract with the buyer. The buyer is said to be a strategic investor interested in developing the airport. The Infrastructure Ministry will next week launch an international tender for the operation of the airport.

The new airport operator will be issued an operating licence because, according to EU law, a concession can’t be issued in this case. Aerodrom Maribor’s licence expires at the end of the year. The new operator will thus be awarded a licence to operate the airport’s infrastructure, facilities and buildings.
