"This agreement means for the Maribor Archdiocese the end of one of the more difficult periods of its existence, but simultaneously a new beginning in pursuing the basic mission of the Church, to be exercised through annunciation, worship, and charity," announced the Maribor Archdiocese. Practically all their assets have been allotted for payment of their debts, and the amount of the final repayment of the largest part of the creditors will depend on their success in disposing with the assets.

They were satisfied with the active cooperation of the banks and other creditors, and gave their thanks to the neighbouring Graz-Seckau Diocese for their expert help and advices during negotiation procedure. The Maribor Archdiocese gave no explanation whether the Graz Diocese came to their aid also by purchasing certain real estate, which was often mentioned in media.
