Lenarčič will need around one month to fly the 42.000 kilometer long journey. He plans to make 13 stops on the way. The longest flight will be around 19 hours long.
Lenarčič will start his journey on Monday morning from the Portorož airport. The aim of the journey is to collect data about one of the global pollutants - black carbon. The mission intends to shed light on the problems of air pollution and climate change in a different, environmentally friendly and energy-saving way.
The aim of the mission is to collect as much data as possible on the concentration and source of black carbon along the whole flight path. Black carbon is the second most important agent of climate change.
