The citizens of Sevnica are trying to take advantage of that fact to gain recognisability, and to promote their tourist offer which has been consequently gaining new image, and expanding its offer.
The municipality is trying to attract as much tourists as possible to Sevnica and its surroundings, taking advantage of the considerable media siege. "We are getting more and more tourists, coming from much wider area. World tourists are coming, global tourists, and it is quite important to be visible on the world map. Our tourist offer is adapting," the mayor of the municipality of Sevnica Srečko Ocvirk explained for TV Slovenia.
The tourist informer Zdravko Remar emphasizes their wish to make people feel good while visiting. "Our goal is to make people feel good, and that they have contact with people who speak their language. That's the reason we have trained a new generation of guides who speak foreign languages." Most of the guides speak English, but they have also guides who speak German, Italian, and Russian.
For now, the majority of tourist come on their own account, but in future they expect larger organized groups. "I own a tourist agency. The main attraction luring people to Sevnica will be Melanie. I came to see the place and I hope that next time I will come with a group of clients," Graeme Chuter explained.
