His resignation followed media reports that he once worked at a company that was rigging prices in deals with state authorities.

PM Cerar says the Economy Minister in the previous government, Metod Dragonja, is not going to take over the post, as he needs him to work on financial issues, privatization and a number of other economic problems as a Secretary of State. Cerar says Dragonja could be extremely useful in the coming months holding that post.

The Prime Minister will also have to find an adequate replacement for the Minister without portfolio, responsible for development, strategic projects and cohesion Violet Bulc. She was confirmed as Transport Commissioner today.

Cerar says he will try to appoint the best possible candidates and to ensure the work at both departments continues smoothly.
