Her choice of study also proves that. The 23-year-old native of Odranci studies telecommunication in Maribor. Talking to MMC’s chat room a few days after becoming the most beautiful Slovenian, Kociper acknowledged that she was different from the stereotype image of a Miss: "I’m interested in everything connected to technology, cars, motors, adrenalin sports." On the 19th of December at the renowned Chinese resort city of Sanya, where between 121 candidates the 65th Miss World will be announced, Kociper will stick to the areas she is most familiar with. At the competition the current Miss World, South African Rolene Strauss, will hand over the crown to her successor.
So, which talents will Mateja present herself with at the talent show? "As I mentioned before, I’m the technical type. I regard that as one of my talents. Therefore, my performance on the stage will be much different from what audiences at beauty pageants are used to. I will construct an electronic circuit for a puppet, which will look like me (it will have the same evening dress that I will be wearing on stage, long brown hair…) . Once I compose the circuits, after three minutes, I will place it in the body of the puppet. The puppet will then be able to ''talk”, greet the audience and jury, welcome them and wish them a pleasant evening in our nice country."
The brunette Mateja travels to China today. Apart from the dress, a creation of Jerneja P. Zhembrovskyy, Mateja Kociper is also "armed" with a few Chinese phrases and as she put it herself, with positive thoughts. We hope her life motto "Life is a game, play it with enthusiasm", helps her at the contest. Mateja swept away her competition at the Slovenian beauty pageant, winning all the distinguished awards. Can the 170 cm tall beauty now become the first Slovenian to ever make it in the world’s top ten?
