The website received praise for its poignant and in-depth descriptions of the "war to end all wars." MMC journalist Ana Svenšek said: "We are pleased that this award recognized our project dedicated to the anniversary of the Great War. Although the events of the war cut into nearly every Slovenian family and even though parts of Slovenian territory became a battlefield, the first world war quickly disappeared from the collective memory."

She noted that many memories were nevertheless preserved, as evidenced by the huge response the website got from people who sent in photos, postcards and stories from their ancestors.
